Book Review: Moving from Windows to Linux and Linux in the Workplace Cameron Laird These are hard reviews to write. I haven't found a way yet to be objective about the idea of moving from Windows to Linux.
With most reviews, I'm confident of the way I focus on the books' concepts, style, organization, depth, and polish. I've generally talked over my judgments with enough experts in the particular field to know that I'm passing on reliable information.
I haven't found a way to treat Moving from Windows to Linux and Linux in the Workplace so dispassionately, though. Lots of desktop computing administators and decision-makers don't begin to question the proposition that Windows is the only viable desktop platform, let alone the best one. Fri, 30 Jul 2004
